Description
This Crunchwrap Supreme recipe is a delicious copycat of the fast-food favorite, combining satisfying crunch with melty cheese and savory fillings. It’s perfect for a quick lunch or meal prep.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large flour tortillas (10–12 inches)
- 4 small corn tortillas (for crunch)
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a healthier twist)
- Guacamole (optional)
- Hot sauce (optional)
- Black olives, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) for about 5-7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to the package instructions, typically around 2-3 minutes. Add a splash of water if it gets too dry.
- While the beef cooks, warm the large flour tortillas in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds to make them pliable.
- On each large tortilla, layer a small corn tortilla in the center. Then, add a scoop of the seasoned meat, followed by shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Start folding the edges of the large tortilla inwards over the filling, creating pleats as you go.
- Heat a little oil in your skillet over medium heat. Place the folded Crunchwrap seam-side down and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, and then slice in half to reveal the gorgeous layers. Serve warm with your favorite toppings!
Notes
Always warm your tortillas to make them easier to fold without tearing. Don’t overload the filling to ensure even cooking.
