Delicious Toasted Ravioli: Easy Perfect Game Day Appetizer

  • Author: Isabella Russo
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This recipe for delicious toasted ravioli features a crispy, golden-brown exterior filled with a creamy blend of cheeses, served hot with marinara sauce for dipping. It’s a crowd-pleaser perfect for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 oz) frozen cheese ravioli, cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ravioli: Start by boiling water in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and cook the frozen ravioli according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain them and let them cool slightly.
  2. Set Up Your Breading Station: In three separate bowls, place the flour in one, the beaten eggs in another, and mix the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the third.
  3. Bread the Ravioli: Take each cooked ravioli and first coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally, coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure they’re well-coated for the best crunch!
  4. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, it’s ready!
  5. Fry the Ravioli: Carefully place the breaded ravioli into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
  6. Drain and Serve: Use a slotted spoon to remove the ravioli from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping and garnish with fresh parsley!

Notes

Maintain the oil temperature to avoid soggy ravioli. You can also experiment with different fillings or try air-frying for a healthier option.
